
Growing up, my mom made it a priority to cook us a healthy meal every night even though she worked full time in a very demanding job. She spent most of her weekends in the kitchen trying a new recipe or preparing meals for the week. I learned to love food because of my mom. She is one of the best cooks I know!

It’s hard to find anything in Janne’s kitchen that you don’t have to prepare before you eat. On Friday afternoons, her counter is covered with all of the veges and fruit she picked up at the markets with Eve in the morning. Spending time in the kitchen with Janne, using fresh ingredients from the market each week, I learned that the key to good cooking is real food, simplicity and most of all – a willingness to “give it a go”!

My favorite part of visiting Yvonne is spending time in the kitchen together. We cook, drink wine, reflect on life and laugh. My dream is to have a kitchen like Yvonne’s someday where my children and their friends and family feel like they are at home.
